Why This Blog?
Hi there and welcome to my blog. My name is Chris Easton and I’m in my 23rd year as a practicing physical therapist. I’ve been fortunate enough to work in varied care settings (from the hospital, intensive care units, to long term care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, home health and most recently, I owned my own out-pt clinic for 9+ years. I spent a few years working for a company that supplied wound care devices and beds to hospitals, and got to teach hospital staff the proper use of that equipment.
Over the years I’ve gotten to laugh, cry, cheer, celebrate, counsel and lend an ear to thousands of individuals that I was fortunate enough to have placed in my path (or I in theirs, or both depending on how you look at it).
This blog isn’t about me, it’s about you. I wrote about “my stuff” because I want you to know who’s writing, but this blog is all about you. One recurring theme that comes up in my pastors sermons is how we are called to share our knowledge, gifts, skills and abilities. We’ve been given those gifts and if we share those to ease someone’s suffering or make a task easier/more bearable, that’s a good thing. If I can teach someone how to properly use an incentive spirometer (those weird breathing things they give you in the hospital) and reduce that persons risk of pneumonia, that’s a good thing. If by reading my book or a blog post someone that’s had a knee replacement lies down more and ices their knee 6X a day, thereby reducing their pain, that’s a good thing.
If this resonates with you please read on. There are some topics that I feel passionately about and as time moves on I’ll get to those, so bookmark this page and check back regularly. You may also subscribe by entering your email address and get notified when I post new material. And yes, I’ll treat your email address just like I treat mine.
